A boutique firm — by choice

Dechamps Abogados is a boutique firm: few clients, attended to personally by the founding partner. By choice, not by circumstance. The small scale is what makes possible the direct attention, the personal handling of each matter and the independence of judgement that have defined the firm since its founding.

In practice this means the client works with the same senior lawyer from the first meeting through to completion — no rotating teams, no interchangeable contacts. Continuity and accumulated knowledge of the file are essential conditions for the kind of international advice we provide.

Our vocation: bridging Spain and the outside world

From Madrid, Dechamps Abogados serves as a legal bridge between Spain and other jurisdictions. We advise and assist foreign and Spanish clients — both individuals and companies — in their legal interests, transactions, projects and investments in Spain and abroad.

The founding partner's international background and the firm's culture allow us to handle matters in Spanish, French, English and Dutch, bridging the differences between legal cultures to deliver effective advice.

The firm places the greatest weight on direct communication with the client, who can count at any time on personal assistance and direct contact with the founding partner. Also on responsiveness and diligence in handling the work, adapting our timing to the specific needs of each matter.

What we do not do

We do not work with rotating associates. We do not subcontract satellite firms. We do not take on matters that would compromise our independence with respect to existing clients. We do not sell volume.

Clients

The firm's long-standing client base is mainly composed of foreign companies and private clients with cross-border interests. Names that have trusted the firm over the decades include FGH Bank (Dutch mortgage bank), Nationale-Nederlanden (Dutch insurance company), ASTIC (Spanish office of the International Road Union), FRIFOR Promoción Inmobiliaria and Lois. Today the firm also works with families, individuals, associations and business groups on matters between Spain and some ten countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
